The BITTER truth!

Namaste! Today someone touched my heart. I decided to write about him on this lovely website through my post. This blog is about the bitter realities of India which most of the indian middle-class and rich avoid discussing. Its about the child-labor.

In india child labor is very common. Though most of us have mastered to ignore it. Children working in houses as domestic helpers, in food stalls for washing dishes and serving, shops and offices as assistants etc etc. We see it everyday but we only realise it momentarily when we see documentary or read posts like this.

Now coming to the person who touched my heart today. He was a poor little boy, 12 or 13 yer old, working in a chinese food stall. I was passing by and having some snacks from that stall. A robust looking man came to the stall, ordered something and slapped the boy. I was amazed! the slap was not hit hard but it still was without any reason. He then told the boy that he should study and not work in the stall. The boy then said something which touched my heart completely! He said " Kam karoonga tabhi to naiya paaar hogi sahab ". Which means " i can change my destiny only if i work hard".

The simple line had a very deep meaning to it. The only way to make his two ends meet is WORK! He cant do anything else. Though it is sad and unfortunate...but thats the way it is!

Today i cant do anything, but if ever i get a chance to do something for them i will do it unconditionally.

  1. The article is very touching, but the last sentence says a lot "Today i cant do anything, but if ever i get a chance to do something for them i will do it unconditionally" - many people 'think' the same.
